Morning Roar #1: The Art of Documenting Your Journey

It all started on a Tuesday evening, once again out of boredom, sitting in front of my screen, jumping from one website to another. I felt disgusted.

Looking back over the past few months, I realized I had no discipline or consistent actions to show for my efforts.

I made some progress, but I’m old enough to know that significant impact is impossible without discipline and consistency.

I know what I need to do to move forward and get results. Yet, I don’t have the results I want, and the only major cause I can pinpoint is my lack of consistency.

A year ago, I decided to build a media company focused on writing and producing content about digital innovation, technology, and the art of client acquisition.

This Wednesday, I told myself it was time to start documenting my journey. I need to write every day and record my progress.

So, today’s topic is about how you can document your journey.

Documenting your journey involves recording the experiences, lessons, and milestones you encounter along the way, whether in personal growth, professional development, or a specific project.

My alarm went off, and I knew what it meant: Get up, put on your running shoes—it’s time to exercise.

It was Wednesday, and on my to-do list, which I wrote before going to bed, I had planned to run for 20 minutes and then come back to write one page about a topic that crossed my mind during the run.

My brain tried to convince me to stay in bed, but I knew that if I did, my day would be miserable.

So, I woke up, ended up running for 45 minutes, all while thinking about why it’s important to document our journeys as entrepreneurs and innovators.

Documenting your journey allows you to capture your thoughts, challenges, and the patterns behind your successes.

It helps you organize your reflections into a narrative that not only tracks your progress but also serves as a resource for others who might learn from your experiences.

You can do this through writing, photos, videos, or other creative mediums. I’ve chosen to write, and I hope to incorporate this new routine into my life.

As I finish writing this, I can hardly feel my legs—it’s been a long time since I ran this much.

But my mind is clear, and I feel energized, ready to start my day.

What routine can you start today that you can document to inspire others?
