Spiro, Africa’s largest electric vehicle company, has announced a strategic partnership with Afrobeats superstar Davido for 2025. The collaboration aims to promote clean energy and sustainable transportation across the continent.
Spiro has been at the forefront of sustainable transport in Africa, deploying over 22,000 electric bikes and enabling 300 million kilometers of emission-free travel. Its revolutionary battery-swapping technology allows riders to change batteries in seconds, making clean transportation not just viable but practical.
The company’s CEO, Kaushik Burman, expressed excitement about the collaboration: “Davido represents the best of African excellence—he’s bold, innovative, and beloved worldwide. This partnership marks a milestone as we make sustainable mobility accessible to all.”
Africa faces mounting environmental challenges, with urban areas experiencing high levels of air pollution from fossil fuel-dependent vehicles. Spiro’s electric bikes provide a cleaner, cheaper alternative, aligning with global efforts to combat climate change while empowering communities.
Davido, a global music icon renowned for hits like “Unavailable” and “Awuke,” is more than just a chart-topping artist. He’s a cultural powerhouse who uses his platform for change. With over 20 million followers across social media and a reputation for philanthropy, his alignment with Spiro promises to resonate far beyond the music industry.
“Partnering with Spiro is the perfect way to make a real difference,” Davido shared. “Switching to electric saves money, helps the planet, and let’s face it, it’s stylish too! Together, we’re bringing a new energy to Africa, and I can’t wait to see the change we’ll create in 2025.”
Davido’s upcoming album 5IVE, set to release in spring 2025, and his global influence will help amplify Spiro’s message. The partnership aims to bridge the gap between technology and culture, showing that sustainability can be both practical and aspirational.
Davido’s Creative Director, Kayode “Tycoone” Umardeen, will work closely with Spiro to ensure the campaign resonates with audiences across Africa.
