Lawhive, a legal tech startup, has secured £9.5 million in funding from Google ventures and Episode 1 Ventures to further develop its AI-powered platform aimed at revolutionizing legal services.

Pierre Proner, Co-founder and CEO at Lawhive said that  Access to the law should be a basic right, available to everyone. Commenting about Lawhive solutions Vidu Shanmugarajah, Partner, GV said that Lawhive represents a transformative shift for both lawyers and consumers.

The legal sector often faces challenges such as time-consuming administrative tasks and limited accessibility to legal services due to high costs. Lawhive aims to address these issues by leveraging AI technology to streamline legal processes and make quality legal support more accessible to a broader audience.

Lawhive’s platform, described as “Shopify for Law,” harnesses AI tools to automate repetitive administrative tasks like client onboarding and document collection. The platform also serves as a marketplace connecting lawyers with consumers and small businesses.

At the core of Lawhive’s platform is an AI lawyer named Lawrence, developed from the company’s large language model (LLM), which assists with legal tasks akin to a junior lawyer or paralegal, thereby freeing up human lawyers’ time for more valuable work.

Lawhive targets both lawyers and consumers in need of legal services.

For lawyers, the platform offers a way to streamline workflows and focus on more substantive legal tasks by automating repetitive administrative work.

For consumers and small businesses, Lawhive provides access to affordable legal support through its AI-powered platform, aiming to make high-quality legal advice more accessible and cost-effective.

Would you trust an AI legal advisor, I mean Lawrence? Tell us what you think in the comments!
